Patricia Mitchell has just released a new collection of 59 of her favorite bread recipes, entitled As the Mill Wheel Turns. This is the seventh book of breads in her "Inkling Series."
Included are biscuits, muffins, scones, and both quick and yeast loaves, such as Angel Yeast Biscuits, Rhubarb Muffins, Pennsylvania Dutch Applesauce Bread, Career Girl Sweet Potato Bread, Sleepy Hollow Corn Bread, and A Little Spice Yeast Bread.
As with all of Patricia's bread books, emphasis is placed on the use of whole-grain flours.
The small volume is illustrated with examples of the Civil-War period countryside etchings of Edwin Forbes.
