The small burg of Hamlet, North Carolina, runs into the slightly larger burg of Rockingham, North Carolina. We have eaten at the Subway in Rockingham and were disappointed, but the Subway in Hamlet is a different story. The tiny Hamlet “store” as corporate headquarters calls its eateries, is in a fairly new strip mall. We found the service there to be pleasant, the sandwiches good, and the place tidy.
Henry, my husband, and I split a 12-inch Turkey sub on whole wheat bread. Sarah, our daughter, ordered a Club — turkey, ham, and roast beef — on Italian Herbs & Cheese bread. Jonathan, our son, chose an Italian BMT (“Biggest, Meatiest, Tastiest” — salami, pepperoni, ham, and provolone) on Parmesan Oregano bread. We all were well-satisfied with our selections.
Different store owners can certainly create different stores, even when using the same basic business plan. The Hamlet Subway owner is on the right track. Maybe the Rockingham guy should eat lunch at the Hamlet Subway….
