The first of Patricia Mitchell's new books for 1999 is Specialties from the Southern Garden: Nostalgic Vegetable Dishes. Shipment of the books is expected to begin January 18.
Specialties from the Southern Garden is a revision of Southern Specialty Vegetables, which was removed from the booklist during 1998 in anticipation of the new edition.
A quick scan of the new booklist will further reveal that two other "old friends," though not revised, have received new names. Northern Ladies' Civil War Recipes was previously called Mrs. Billy Yank's Receipt Book. Footloose, Fancy, and Free: A Victorian Vacation Recipe Book was formerly Victorian Vacation Recipe Book.
