Plantation Row Slave Cabin Cooking

The book Plantation Row Slave Cabin Cooking finished atop Patricia Mitchell's sales charts for the fourth year in a row in 2005, a year-end tally shows.

Containing former slaves' first-hand accounts, many collected as part of the Federal Writer's Project during the 1930's, the book was first published in 1998. It was a follow-up and elaboration on a theme begun with Soul on Rice: African Influences on American Cooking, 1993.

Due to its longevity on the publishing list and consistently strong annual numbers, Cooking for the Cause (1988) is number one in overall sales since Patricia initiated her "Inkling Series" in 1986. Cumulative sales since 1986 for all of Patricia's titles are approximately two-thirds million books.
